Dyne’s House

We thoroughly enjoyed an extended stay at Dyne’s. After successfully moving everybody into the house on Tuesday we then focused on getting MandDy inspected and repaired. The tire and brakes shop inspected MandDy and recommended we replace nearly the entire brake system, each axel had an issue with one of its sets and they will have to replace parts in all four corners. They also detected some separation in a tire that was a defect not related to the brake heat, so a replacement tire for MandDy was also needed. We had to add air to one of the rollerskate tires, which after their inspection had a nail in the sidewall.

Luckily, we did have some fun activities planned along with some renovations to do.

On Saturday, Dyne, her dog Cade, Rob, I, and our 3 dogs drove through the Napa Valley wine country to Bodega Bay and joined Raine (Cade’s breeder) for a pack walk. We were joined by three other dog and owner combinations and enjoyed our walk along the California coast. I enjoyed playing a bit with Kolby and Rowdy in the Pacific Ocean. After a quick photoshoot we headed back to our vehicles and we all went to Raine’s home in Santa Rosa for wine and cheese. Following The wonderful hors d’oeuvres, we packed up in the car and headed to Hopmonk Tavern in Sebastopol for dinner. Altogether we had 5 adults and 6 dogs and it was lots of fun.

On Sunday we got up early to head to Rocklin to meet one of Dyne’s good friends, Pete, for a delicious breakfast before heading out to his cattle ranch to work the cattle. Rob and I followed strict directions and made sure that we did not hinder the process. It is amazing how gentle these large animals can be when given proper treatment and respect.

The following week Dyne took time off of work and the focus was on making upgrades to her home. Together we were able to change out more than 75% of her receptacles, installed new vertical blinds in her bedroom, new LED lights and light diffusers in her kitchen, a new ceiling fan in her family room, and new flooring in the spare closet.

After a long week of hard work, Dyne treated me to a Mani/Pedi before we hit the road again. Saturday morning I took MandDy back to the local tire store to have them assist us in the installation of a new tire pressure monitoring system. Once I returned to the house we finished loading up and hit the road to Klamath (350 miles) so we can visit the Redwoods National Park.
