Kori

Kori is the youngest of 3 girls. She was born in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, on August 14, 1980. Her parents, Bill and Karen, were married for over 50 years.

In 1987 Kori relocated to Rancho Cucamonga, California, with her middle sister and parents. Kori attended Coyote Canyon Elementary for 3rd grade and then transferred to Redeemer Lutheran School in Ontario, California.

In 1993 they relocated to Camarillo, California, where Kori attended 8th grade at St. John’s Lutheran School in Oxnard, California. In 1994, Kori started at Adolfo Camarillo High School and graduated in June 1998.

Kori and her parents then moved across the country to Bradenton, Florida, where Kori attended the University of Tampa for one year, majoring in Marine Animal Sciences, then transferred to the University of South Florida in Tampa and majored in Early Childhood Education. Kori graduated in May 2003 and entered the working world.

In 2005, Kori became a kindergarten teacher in Bradenton, Florida. In June 2007, Kori returned to school to pursue her Master’s degree in School Counseling at Argosy, University-Sarasota. During this time, she pursued her graduate certificate in Play Therapy from the University of South Florida.

In December 2009, Kori completed her degree and started planning for the future as a counselor. Kori enjoyed her clinical internship and part-time job providing play therapy to traumatized children.

In February 2010, Kori was accepted to Auburn University’s Counselor Education and Supervision Ph.D. program. 2010 brought another move for Kori, and she left Bradenton, Florida, and settled down for a few years in Auburn, Alabama. Kori was blessed to have a graduate assistantship at the Auburn Early Learning Center, where she was an assistant teacher for three years.

In August 2013, Kori obtained a full-time clinical position in Montgomery, Alabama, providing mental health counseling to traumatized children.

Kori completed her Ph.D. in August 2014 and relocated to Hopkinsville, Ky, where she worked for Lindsey Wilson College.

Kori is an Associate Professor at Troy University, Phenix City Campus, where she teaches clinical mental health courses.

Kori is a Registered Play Therapist – Supervisor at a small private practice in Columbus, GA.

Kori and Rob moved from Phenix City, AL, in 2020 to their lake house in Fortson, GA, where they live with their three dogs and four cats.

Kori enjoys being a biological aunt to Hannah and Meghan Neu and a non-biological aunt to many of her friend’s children.

Kori is a Godmother to her nieces Hannah and Kelsey and her non-biological nephew Gordon.
