Robber’s Cave, OK

After a scenic drive through the Ouachita National Forest, we made it to Wilburton, Oklahoma, and Robber’s Cave State Park (172 miles). We had a peaceful pull-through spot and got set up quickly so we could go hiking.

After visiting the camp store and getting insider directions from Donna, we headed out for the first hike of our trip. With our knockoff camelbacks, hiking shoes, and the walking sticks we got on our 5th anniversary (traditional gift), we were ready to find where Jesse James and Belle Starr used to hide out. Though very humid, a nice breeze made the hike even better. The views from on top of the cave were breathtaking. Following our hike, we added our walking stick medallions and turned in since we wanted to get an early start for our long day of driving to Dodge City, KS.

The animals are doing well, and the dogs enjoyed our shady spot in Oklahoma.
